Our venue is a family farm that has been in Mathias' family for a long time. He grew up spending a lot of his free time here and it's become a special place for the both of us. - Lotte

Lotte + Mathias met on Hinge during the pandemic and quickly fell in love. In May of 2023, they got engaged at La Grande Roue de Montréal, the tallest ferris wheel in Canada.

We started with a first look under an enormous willow tree. Then we walked the waterfront farm for some portraits of Lotte + Mathias.

After photos, they gathered with their guests before the ceremony. The guest list was tiny; just 15 people - close family, and a few friends.

Cocktail hour of a backyard wedding where guests are gathered poolside with paper lanterns overhead by a cedar shake garage.

Their waterfront intimate wedding took place in the backyard of the family home on the Patuxent River with sailboats and the boat dock in the background.

Both of Lotte's parents walked her down the aisle, a sweet gesture that holds a special place in my heart. My parents both walked me down the aisle, and my mom's parents walked her down together as well.

My favorite thing about a wedding this small is that huge embraces at the end of the aisle are possible! When you don't have to go hide away from all of your guests to knock out all of your photos immediately after the ceremony, you really get to celebrate with your people.

Champagne towers will never go out of style. I love the idea of the couple pouring drinks for their guests and toasting to them!

During cocktail hour, Lotte and Mathias, Mat's parents, and Lotte's parents each planted a tulip tree on the property to signify a lasting bond formed between their families.

Had to sneak in a few sunset photos on the water!

Table setting for an intimate dinner with orange candles and napkins, wildflowers, and string lights under a corkscrew willow tree.
Table set for a small family wedding under a corkscrew willow tree. Fairy string lights hanging from the tree to illuminate the space for a candlelight dinner.

The families ended the day with dinner under a weaping willow tree lit by string lights and candles. How lovely?! Mathias' sister, Maïlyse, is an event planner in Charleston, SC, and helped their vision come to life.
